While we overhaul all the equipment, power is now resuming for affected residents. Please be patient.

11:40 [Drill] Interconnection between Mainland China and Macau recovered

Current power status: power interruption in some areas

The Guangdong Power Grid (GPG) has resumed the power supply to Macau and CEM is gradually restoring the power supply for customers outside the flooding areas.

CEM emergency teams are on standby. Once the Typhoon Signal is lowered to no. 3 and the flood recedes, we will immediately dispatch our team to restore power for customers who have had power suspension measures implemented.

After restoration, residents and merchants are reminded to check whether their power facilities can operate properly first and only use the facilities in safe conditions. Please seek professional advice if you have any doubts.

11:00 [Drill] Coloane Power Station has completed the “black start procedure” and power supply gradually resumes

Current power status: power interruption in some areas

A citywide blackout occurred earlier in Macau, as the Mainland Guangdong Power Grid (GPG) interconnection to Macau was damaged by Severe Typhoon Electric Dragon, and the generators in the Coloane Power Station also tripped off. Following the blackout, CEM activated the “black start procedure” and successfully resumed power supply for some customers who are mainly critical customers such as public utilities, security departments, hospitals, telecom and water supply companies, and so forth. GPG is sparing no effort to repair the damage, while CEM is staying in close contact with them and monitoring the supply load.

While the power supply is still unstable and insufficient, CEM strongly calls for support to save electricity from citizens whose power has been restored, so that more citizens can have their power restored as well.

10:35 [Drill] Tripping of generator units at the Coloane Power Station and interconnection between Mainland China and Macau disconnected

Current supply status: Citywide blackout in Macau

At 10:35, as the Guangdong Power Grid (GPG) interconnection to Macau was damaged by typhoon and the generator units in Coloane Power Station were affected and tripped off, causing a citywide blackout in Macau. CEM and GPG are sparing no effort to repair and restore power to the affected customers as soon as possible. CEM apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
