A brief power supply interruption happened at Areia Preta and Iao Hon districts on 31 March (Tuesday) at 12:58 pm due to underground cable failure. The incident affected 35 buildings and 4,200 households. CEM immediately operated remotely for power restoration and supply was resumed within four minutes at 1:02 pm.

However, Border Gate Frontier Post was still affected. Since backup power supply equipment was instantly activated in the building, services at Post were not affected. CEM also provided temporary power supply and carried out repair work right away.

CEM apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the citizens and customers. CEM always attaches great importance to the quality of power supply and promises to strive to improve the infrastructure to provide reliable and secure electricity service.
