At 8:15am this morning, when CEM Power Station Demolition Team was conducting a daily safety meeting at Macau Power Station, an explosion occurred inside the engine room. After inspection, it has been found that there are flames and smoke popped up.

CEM staff contacted the Fire Brigade immediately after the unsuccessful initial rescue. The fire was put out at 9:15am by the firefighters. No injuries or discomfort were found on the scene. The initial investigation found that the cause of the fire was due to the malfunction of the DC power supply batter banks.
