Chinese New Year is fast approaching. To promote the spirit of respecting and loving the elderly, a team of Ambassadors was organized by CEM to accompany 20 elders from “Chong Pak Chi Ka” of Macao Federation of Trade Unions to “Energizing Tour” and lunch on 30 January, in the hope of sending care and blessings to the elderly prior to Chinese New Year.

On that day, CEM Ambassadors and the elders took the e-bus and visited Coloane Power Station, where they learnt about the development and generation process of electricity in Macau. Chan Yin Ping, one of the participating elders who is 89 years old said that despite having lived in Macau for many years, he only knows that there is a power station in Macau, but not sure how it operates. He thinks it has been an interesting experience to visit the power station for himself this time, understand the source of electricity, and even to take the e-bus. He also feels grateful to CEM staff for their hard work in providing the society with endless supply of power, and for that, he will make better use of resources and save electricity.

Afterwards, CEM Ambassadors enjoyed lunch with the elders together. Apart from presenting them with Cantonese opera audio players, a “Laisee” lucky draw game was held to foster a happy atmosphere for the elderly before Chinese New Year and wish them good health. The event ended in a warm laughter.
