At 4:02 this afternoon, due to the failure of the MV panel in the Penha Substation at Rua da Penha, caused transformer trip and resulted in power outage at the São Lourenço district, Southern Sai Van district, Penha area, Nam Van Lake new reclamation area and the central district. Total 13,447 customers were affected. CEM immediately dispatched emergency team on site to repair by using the MV ring main unit for power restoration. The power supply for most of the customers was resumed within 10 minutes, and the remaining customers’ power supply returned to normal at 5:11.

The root cause of the incident is under investigation. CEM apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
